our team

Hill Country is a congregational fellowship. This means that the congregation annually re-affirms our entire elder board including the pastor. The elder board (we call it the pastoral team) asks gifted and mature members of the congregation to serve as ministry team leaders (worship, youth, children, men's, women's etc) and as deacons (building & grounds, Sunday morning deacon ministries, etc). Our elders meet monthly including a quarterly all day retreat for vision and direction. Our leadership team (composed of elders, ministry team leaders, and deacons) meet for a celebration dinner twice a year.

  • Al Hester, Pastor

Al & Susie Hester have been part of Hill Country since 2006 when they returned from serving as missionaries in Ukraine for six years. Before that Al served in various churches in both senior and associate pastoral roles. Al enjoys hiking, woodworking and riding his Harley Davidson. Susie loves to bake, teach kids in Sunday School, entertain, and care for others in a variety of special ways. Al & Susie have one adult daughter.

  • Tom Edelen, Elder

  • David Hillaker, Elder, Sunday Morning Ministries Deacon

David has taught some of our Sunday evening Equip classes and has preached. David is also a servant. He oversees greeters, ushers, and the offering. Thank you, David, for all you do quietly in the background.
